Micah 5v2-5a                         A ruler from Bethlehem, promised of old.

Hebrews 10v5-10           A body you prepared for me.

Luke 1v39-45                 Mary visits Elizabeth.

God prepared a body for His Son! Hebrews 10v5

I am excited about God’s preparation through His Holy Spirit.

His provision of a body for Jesus to be a sin offering for you and I!  Hebrews 10v5. 2v14. John 1v14

His forward planning from ages past.   Micah 5v2.

The line of David, born in Bethlehem.                ,     Isaiah 11v1-3a

The virgin birth and the preparation of a human body for the Messiah to be born. Isaiah 9v6.

The sacrificial death of Christ as a sin offering for us all.  Isaiah 53v4-13.

All this has been done because God loves you and I and want’s to draw us through love, not guilt, into a living and loving relationship with him, not based on law, sin, or guilt, but upon love, forgiveness and grace.

He has also given us His Holy Spirit, so that the relationship may be empowered and real.

We marvel here at the incredible intimacy that Mary and Elizabeth experience in their bodies of the touch of the Holy Spirit. Their experience is so real that even their babies in the womb respond and are anointed for their adult ministry.  Luke 1v39-45

We note Elizabeth’s spontaneous acknowledgement of praise at Mary’s arrival and news. This is the result of the work and touch of the Holy Spirit upon Elizabeth, naturally and spontaneously welling up and overflowing from within her into praise of God.

Are there any strings attached?

No. The benefits of joy and peace are wonderful to be experienced.

This is totally a free will choice, to receive God’s blessing and love and enter into this relationship with Him.

We accept Jesus as our Saviour, commit our lives to His authority, and invite Jesus to come and live within us.

And he does, the covenant is made, and we become living temples of the Holy Spirit.

God touched Mary’s life.

She accepted His rule and authority in her life and pledged obedience.

God was faithful to His promise and blessed not only Mary but the whole world through her obedience.

Submissive obedience to the Lord.

Like Mary we are called through love into a life of joyful submissive obedience to our Lord.

Jesus now lives within each one of us through the Holy Spirit, if indeed we have invited him to do so, and continue to offer our lives in obedience to Him.  Romans 12v1…ff

God has prepared a Body for the ongoing life of His Son!   You and I, the Church!
