Holy Living for His Holy People!

We have just celebrated Christ-mass.

God has given us his Son for our salvation.

At Pentecost he also gives us His Holy Spirit, that we may become alive in him. John 14.

Now we are called to live in Christ, obedient to his teaching in our lives and submissive to his will.

Romans 12v1-2.

“Therefore I urge you brothers in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good and perfect will.”

Colossians 3v12-17.

“Therefore as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness and humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, weather in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”.

In our communion service it says on page 421.

In Him you have made us a Holy People, by sending upon us your holy and life giving Spirit.

P423  Send your Holy Spirit….that we filled with the Spirit’s grace and power, may be renewed for the service of your kingdom.

P428  May we who share Christ’s body, live his risen life,

We who drink his cup, bring life to others,

We whom the Spirit lights give light to the world.

So let us go into the world and get on with it!
