This is my introduction to the Alpha Course. Session 1.

Are you searching for God?

Searching for God.

We are spiritual beings as well as physical beings.

Searching:-

For Connection with God  

          For deep meaning to life

          For deep fulfilment

          For relationship  John 14v23.(And my Father will love him).

                    “I am the way”. John 14v6. “He who sees me sees the Father.” John 14v8-11.  12v44-45

Finding Reality in a confused world

One creator God, but many expressions of faith, many experiences

Jesus offers truth we can understand (The historic biblical context)

Truth we can experience. John 15v4a. (Remain in me and I will remain in you). 17v25-26 (The love you have for me may be in them)

Truth historically and contemporarily verified.  (The bible as an historical record) Session 5.

Personal relationship

Not a set of beliefs but a living relationship

Empowered by the Holy Spirit of God. John 14v15-16. 15v26.

He created you, he knows you, he gives you the Spirit to know him. John 14v16-18.

Prodigal Son.  Luke 15v20  (11-32)(But while he was still a long way off, the father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son and, threw his arms around him and kissed him).

Conclusion.

God is calling you!   Isaiah 49v6.

His hand of fellowship is outstretched to you.  John 3v16. (God so loved the world that he sent his only Son).

Will you take his invitation to come closer, and know him through his Son?

We focus on Jesus because he is the way to the father.

“I am the way, the truth and the life.”  John 14v6.

This course will help you to understand who Jesus is.

Help you to welcome the Holy Spirit (Spirit of God) into your life.

Help you to connect with God in relationship as your best friend.
